Takakannen teksti:
Theology literally means "the doctrine of God". Although theological studies are published in great numbers, astonishingly few deal with God himself. Instead, such studies discuss subjects more or less related to God. Emilianos Timiadis, metropolitan of Silivria, discusses the topic most central in Christian faith in this study. The dogmas about God from the time of the Early Church are presented here, but also the insights of Palamism and modern theology. Difficult problems such as atheism, agnosticism, and the "death of God" are also dealt with. The frequent use of Greek and Latin terms indicates that Timiadis has the theologically educated reader in mind when writing this book, but it will certainly be useful for all readers wishing to know more about the doctrine of God in Christianity in general and in Orthodoxy in particular.
